It must be strongly stated that condemning a person to the death penalty is an inhumane measure. It is, of itself, contrary to the Gospel because it is freely decided to suppress a human life that is always sacred. In the final analysis, God alone is the true judge and guarantor.

God is the only one who’s not vulnerable, all of us are, in some of us it’s visible, in others it isn’t. But the essence of humanity is that need of being sustained by God. For this reason, no one must be discarded! Is this clear? Because each one of us is a treasure, offered to God, so that God makes it grow according to his own way.

So great is the value of a human life, and so inalienable the right to life of an innocent child growing in the mother’s womb, that no alleged right … can justify a decision to terminate that life.

God is the source of life; thanks to his breath, man has life. God's breath sustains the entire journey of our life on earth.

Time was, so to speak — “touched” by Christ, the Son of God and of Mary, and received from Him new and surprising meanings: it became the “salvific time”, namely, the definitive time of salvation and grace.
And all this induces us to think of the end of the journey of life, the end of our journey. There was a beginning and there will be an end, “a time to be born, and a time to die” (Eccles 3:2). With this truth, so simple and fundamental and so neglected and forgotten, Holy Mother Church teaches us to end the year and also our day with an examination of conscience, through which we review what has happened; we thank the Lord for every good we have received and have been able to do and, at the same time, we think again of our failings and our sins — to give thanks and to ask for forgiveness.

We need to recover the dignity of the person. We are certainly in an age in which the human person is used as an object and ends up becoming disposable material. In the eyes of God there is no disposable material, there is only dignity.
