Jesus Christ
Everything in Jesus speaks of mercy. Nothing in him is devoid of compassion.
'Misericordiae Vultus'
The Face of Mercy
Jesus Christ
I see him there, nailed to the cross, and from there he does not disappoint us. He was consecrated Lord on that throne, and there he experienced all the disasters we experience. Jesus is Lord! And he is Lord from the cross, from there he reigned. That is why he can understand us: he became like us in every way. So we have a Lord who is able to weep with us, who can be at our side through life’s most difficult moments.

Jesus Christ
O Lord, may I see you in today’s disfigured faces, in the suffering bodies of all ages, in those who have been discarded, marginalized and crushed by the weight of their crosses.
Introduction written for

Jesus Christ
Jesus does not come to us as a judge ready to condemn our sins, nor as a commander that requires us to blindly follow His orders; He appears as the Savior of humanity, as brother, as our big brother, Son of the Father: as the One who responds to the expectations and promises of joy that dwell in the heart of each of us.

Jesus Christ
Fix your thoughts on Jesus alone. If our heart, if our mind is with Jesus, the Victor who has conquered death, sin, the devil, all things, we can do what Jesus himself asks of us: meekness, humility, kindness, heartfelt compassion, gentleness, magnanimity. If we do not look to Jesus, if we are not with Jesus, we cannot do this. It is a grace: it is the grace that comes from the contemplation of Jesus.

Jesus Christ
Whoever sees Jesus sees the Father. Jesus of Nazareth, by his words, his actions, and his entire person, reveals the mercy of God.
'Misericordiae Vultus'
The Face of Mercy
Jesus Christ
Jesus has entered our history; he has shared our journey. He came to free us from darkness and to grant us light. In him was revealed the grace, the mercy, and the tender love of the Father: Jesus is Love incarnate.
Homily
Nativity of the Lord
24 December 2013
Jesus Christ
Let us keep our gaze fixed on Jesus, because faith, which is our “yes” to the filial relationship with God, comes from him, comes from Jesus. He is the only mediator of this relationship between us and our Father who is in heaven. Jesus is the Son and we are sons in him.
